First FRIDA meeting: “Researches on Information and Communication Technologies and public policies in Latin America and the Caribbean”

Montevideo, April 22 and 23, 2009

The purpose of the event is to strengthen regional capacities in the ICT area and its impact in the elaboration of public policies to solve important regional issues that limit the development of the Information Society. Its organization is part of the diffusion and training strategy of the program.
Within this two days event, FRIDA will make an institutional presentation of the program and its activities since 200.  The dynamic of the meeting will be developed on the basis of presentations, workshops and round tables (see the agenda for more information). 


The workshops will work surrounding interesting topics for the research community, such as:

  • How researches can have an impact in the elaboration of public policies.
  • How to prepare a research proposal.
  • How to secure funding for my initiative.
  • How to communicate the results of my research.

The round tables will be the occasion to present successful experiences of researches founded by FRIDA. The intent of this exercise will be to display good practices and to facilitate the creation of a new regional research network.
